My Uncle Andy passed away late this afternoon. The family knew it was coming, he had cancer and there was no hope. It doesn’t make it any easier though. My mom seems to be doing okay. From what I can gather, it was in his heart and it wasn’t pleasant. I have many fond memories of Uncle Andy. Uncle Andy was a Vietnam vet, a great man and a loving person. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Please keep my family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
I will not be able to travel back home to be with my mom. I do feel bad about that, but I know there’s nothing I could do but offer hugs. I know she understands. I love you, mom. Please know that at least he’s not in any pain anymore and that I wish there was more I could do.
For me and, I’m sure, for my sisters and cousins, it’s hard because this is the first of this generation to die. My mother is one of 7 children, they are all very close.

I’m sorry to hear that. My Uncle D died of esophogus cancer last year and it hit me pretty hard. I was starting my brand new job the day before his funeral and couldn’t go… he was only 54.
