Someone took a pencil away from L in Kinder and when prompted by me if she told the teacher, she said no because if she tattled, you get a ticket. Sigh! My kid will not rock the boat while the younger one will literally tip it over to get his way.

I feel your pain of having a polite, follow the rules, don’t ask questions kinda kid.

6 digits, that sounds right. They give the kids these papers with a keypad drawn on them so they can *practice at home*. I bet he could learn it easily, just teach him the pattern.

Oh I am so not looking forward to that kind of mess, teachers that dont reply is not a good thing. That is your job to keep communication open with the parents.

Ah school lunch I will never forget the lunch card. They used to keep ours next to the register in alphabetical order we just told the lunch lady our name she found our card and done.

Hmmm… MOAC… he does have a “keypad #” that I have to put on the checks. I wonder if I get him to memorize that if it will work… it’s only 6 digits. Oh well, we’ll find out on Friday if the whole lunch thing doesn’t work itself out. Seriously, it’s stupid.

Every school should switch to the keypad. Memorizing a code is difficult at first, but once they learn it their done. Same code throughout the district. Expecting a Kindergartner to keep track of, and understand how to use a card? That's crazy. And excuse me, but it's what, the 3rd day of school? Why the heck isn't there a teacher helping them with this stuff?

*sigh*

I guess it's good that we've had great teachers so far, because can you imagine the hell I'd raise if there was a problem? ;o)

In all of this discussion, I have never been able to figure out why Kindergarteners are responsible for obtaining their own milk with a lunch debit card anyway, and why they are given choices with said card. Sounds very complicated for even the smartest child…
