I hear you on the pick-up/drop-off thing. I'm trying to decide if we've been at this school long enough for me to start suggesting some of the great things they did at our last school without them getting all defensive. Hmmm.... ;o)

"Criss-Cross Applesauce" means to sit down and cross your legs :-) Ah, now I see this was addressed above, but anyhooo...

If you have a night mode then it will work well indoors, but it has to be held perfectly still...using a tripod or a book or something to hold it

Criss-cross applesauce -- that's kid-speak for Indian style. Cracked me up the first time I heard it.

Hands behind the back -- makes it easier for them to keep their hands to themselves. An alternate version is for the kids to hold their own hands, in front of themselves. I like the "Hold hands with yourself so you're not tempted to stop keeping your hands to yourself" approach better than behind the back, but hey, maybe that's normal for Texas.

No clue about pick-up. Last year, at kindergarten, we moms were put in one of two lines: carpoolers or singles. We'd wait in our car and the teachers would walk the kids down the sidewalk (carpool kids) or the line painted in the pickup/dropoff lanes (singles) and the kids would jump into the proper cars. We were given signs so they knew the kids were getting into the right car, but it was easy after the first week.

And that's all the help I am. We go back in two weeks and the Spikester and I canNOT wait! (Steele goes back the following Wednesday and she, too, is excited)
