I took Cassie to the doctor today. She has this lump in her groin that seems to come and go, doesn’t hurt her, but it’s kind of freaking me out… the pediatrician thinks it might be a hernia, but she’s not sure. Apparently, sometimes the adominal muscles don’t always form all the way and leave a hole where the intestines can poke through. I have to call tomorrow to get an appointment with a pediatric surgeon. I *know* that this is a standard thing and I *know* that it might turn out to be just nothing more than a swollen lymph node, but I’m still a little bit freaked out. The only “cure” is surgery and the idea of someone cutting into my little baby just scares the bejeezus out of me. So, I’m trying not to think about it and just see what they say… I’ll update when I know more…
