In response to Candy’s “looking for friends” post below, we’ve gotten a few of these: We know what Candy likes…but what about Tom? Will he ‘play well’ with my hubby?”

So, here it is. The pretty much all-inclusive list of Tom’s Likes and Dislikes. (Note: I removed anything I put in about the kids as this is supposed to be a Tom’s List, not a Daddy’s List. Trust me, the kids factor into every categorie.)

Movies:

Like: Star Wars, LotR, just about any sci-fi or fantasy. (Battlestar Gallatica Series on Sci-Fi!!)
Dis-like: Step-mom, Sisterhood of the travelling anything, tear jerkers, “chick flicks”

Food:
Like: Meat, corn, potatoes. Side salad is nice. Just about anything that used to walk on 4 legs and can be grilled.
Dis-like: cauliflower, brocolli, gourds. Just about anything green and leafy that isn’t lettuce and any vegetable that isn’t corn.

Games:
Like: Any type of table-top game you can imagine. Foozball to D&D, Trivial pursuit to Warhammer 40k. I like games.
Dis-like: Sports. Sorry….sports suck.

Music:
Like: Just about anything except….
Dis-like: Whiny female vocalists from the late 80′s and early 90′s

Building Stuff:
Like: Just about anything…computer programming to playscapes, shelving to bicycles. I’m not the best, but I still enjoy it.
Dis-like: REBUILDING things because somebody else broke them. Especially prebuilt kits that never go back together as well.

So, what is Tom doing these days?

Well, when I’m not working I am either mapping out this new computer game I want to program (website coming soon…), or playing with the kids I’m pretty much busy being bored.

I also like watching anime series. I’m currently watching Haunted Junction…subtitles only..ugh..but still pretty funny.

So anyways, that is “Tom in a Nutshell”.

Note: I edited out the stuff about the SCA…I’ve made a new post to explain the reason behind that.

Okay, you were going well until you mentioned the SCA!! My mother is in a guild in the houston area. She likes to do events involving her horse. We also have a very, very wierd coworker that’s very into the SCA. He makes armor, and spends a ton of money on it…Has his own guild and stuff too.

Nuts! It’s all nuts!! Hehe.

Oh god, I agree with you. A lot of those SCA types go way overboard. I don’t see myself doing any of those things. It is so confusing, they use different names and I never know who I’m talking to. So far, I haven’t gotten too into it. Seems like some of it may be fun, but the rest…well…I’m still holding out on passing judgement.

I think Mark and Tom might get along well. Except for that SCA thing. That’s the kinda thing that freaks Mark out…

You pretty much just described my husband, except he likes sports and he doesn’t *play* computer games very often. Other than that, y’all could be twins. ;o)

Oh crap. I have GOT to get you together with my John. Damn. We do watch footbal, and he doesn’t play all that many games any more, but otherwise? Damn.

What does it mean that you described me and not my hubby? No, really. We are both sci-fi fans; steak and potato people; and play video games. We are not hard core (we have the Sega line) no xbox or gameboys. We also don’t play on the computer any games that aren’t Dora or blue’s clues.
